Udanti-Sitanadi lies in the Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh at about 300 m, 80 km from Raipur and 40 km from Gariaband — the wild-buffalo reserve of the region, its 2009-era tiger life, the river and the forest set on the Chhattisgarh plain.

The reserve's story runs with the 2009 tiger era — the wild-buffalo reserve of the 2009-era tiger life and the 1983-era sanctuary of the forest service, with the reserve's modern role as the wildlife stop of the Raipur circuit and the home of the wild buffalo and the tigers and the 2010s-era safaris; the reserve's history of the 2000s-era rescues and the river corners, gives Udanti-Sitanadi its buffalo character.
