Raimona National Park is Assam's newest national park, declared in 2021 — 422 sq km of the Bodo country's foothill forest in Kokrajhar district, sloping from the Bhutan border down to the river valleys, its core the old Raimona forest reserve west of Manas.
History & culture
The forest was long the royal and later reserve hunting ground of the region's chiefs; 2021's declaration made it Assam's sixth national park, consolidating the western wing of the great foothill corridor — the same tract that links Manas to Bhutan's Royal Manas, one of Asia's oldest transboundary wildlife connections.
