In strawberry season, the road edges are stacked with punnets, and the fields below the town are red-flecked with fruit. The boarding schools give the town a permanent adolescent hum at weekends — cricket on every spare patch of grass. It's a modest, cheerful hill station, the unassuming neighbour to Mahabaleshwar, and the valley view alone is worth the drive.
