Neermahal lies in the Gomati district of Tripura, 53 km from Agartala and 5 km from Melaghar — the water palace of the region, its lake palace, the boat rides and the gardens set on the Rudrasagar's wide water.

History & culture

The palace's story runs with the 1930 royal era — the summer palace of the Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya and the water palace of the 2.5-acre lake, with the palace's modern role as the heritage stop of the Tripura circuit and the home of the 1930 royal suites and the boat access; the palace's history of the 1999 renovation and the Rudrasagar's wetland listing, gives Neermahal its water-palace character.
