Navegaon National Park lies in the Gondia district of Maharashtra, 110 km from Nagpur and 60 km from Gondia — the lake park of the region, its Navegaon lake, the birding and the forests set on the Satpura's eastern edge.

History & culture

The park's story runs with the 1975 national park — the Navegaon of the 1905-era forests and the 135 sq km of the eastern Maharashtra, with the park's modern role as the birding and the boating stop of the Nagpur circuit and the home of the Navegaon lake and the 7 km forest walks; the park's history of the lakeside resorts and the 2009 tiger reserve of the Navegaon-Nagzira, gives the park its lake-forest character.
