Nauradehi Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, 90 km from Jabalpur and 60 km from Sagar — the wolf sanctuary of the region, its teak forests, the grasslands and the wildlife set on the Vindhya's central hills.
History & culture
The sanctuary's story runs with the 1975 wolf protection — the Nauradehi of the wild dogs and the wolves (the state's largest wolf habitat) and the 989 sq km of the Vindhya forest, with the sanctuary's modern role as the wildlife stop of the central-India circuit and the home of the tigers and the 150 bird species; the sanctuary's history of the 2012 tiger reserve plans and the tribal villages' forest life, gives the sanctuary its wolf-forest character.
