Nathdwara lies in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan, 48 km from Udaipur and 300 km from Jaipur — the Shrinathji town of the region, its temple, the pichwai art and the bazaars set on the Banas river's bank.

History & culture

The town's story runs with the 1672 idol's arrival — the town of the Shrinathji's installation and the Pushtimarg's main shrine (the Krishna of the seven-fold worship), with the town's modern role as the pilgrimage of the Mewar circuit and the home of the 17th-century temple and the pichwai painters; the town's history of the 2022 helicopter service and the traditional theka art and the 300-year bazaars, gives Nathdwara its Shrinathji character.
