Nakki Lake lies in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan, 6 km from Abu Road and 300 km from Jaipur — the lake town of the region, its rock hills, the boating and the walks set on the Guru Shikhar's foot at Mount Abu.

History & culture

The lake's story runs with the ancient legend — the lake dug by the gods' nails (the nak of the name) and the mount of the Arbuda, with the lake's modern role as the central stop of the Mount Abu circuit and the home of the Raghunath temple and the Toad Rock; the lake's history of the sacred bathing and the colonial-era railing and the Gandhi statue's island, gives the lake its legend-lake character.
