Geography & terrain
Murlen National Park lies in the Champhai district of Mizoram at about 1,600 m, 245 km from Aizawl and 15 km from Champhai — the cloud-forest park of the region, its mists, the wildlife and the treks set on the Indo-Myanmar edge.
History & culture
The park's story runs with the 1991 forest protection — the Murlen of the blue pine and the oak forests and the cloud forest of the region, with the park's modern role as the trek and the wildlife stop of the Mizoram circuit and the home of the hoolock gibbon and the tiger records; the park's history of the Lushai hill life and the forest's mists, gives the park its cloud-forest character.
