Moreh lies in the Tengnoupal district of Manipur, 110 km from Imphal and 5 km from the Myanmar border — the trade town of the region, its border gates, the markets and the Namphalong crossing set on the Indo-Myanmar edge.

History & culture

The town's story runs with the historic trade route — the town of the land customs station and the India-Myanmar friendship gate (the gateway of the south-east trade), with the town's modern role as the border stop of the Manipur circuit and the home of the Asia Highway 1 and the Tamu link; the town's history of the World War II's Burma road and the cross-border trade, gives Moreh its border-town character.
