Molem lies in the Sanguem taluka of Goa, 60 km from Panaji and 25 km from the Dudhsagar rail gate — the park town of the region, its Bhagwan Mahavir sanctuary gate, the falls and the treks set on the Ghats' escarpment.

History & culture

The town's story runs with the 1969 park protection — the gateway of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and the Goa's largest protected forest, with the town's modern role as the base of the Dudhsagar falls and the treks of the region and the home of the Devil's Canyon; the town's history of the Tambdi Surla temple (12th century) and the forest's leopards and the gaurs, gives Molem its park-gate character.
