History & culture
The city's story runs with the 15th–16th century Malwa sultanate — the capital of the Malwa rulers and the city of the romance of Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati, with the city's Jahaz Mahal, the Hindola Mahal and the Rani Roopmati pavilion; the city's history of the forts and the gates and the Afghan-Nau-era building, gives Mandu its ruins-city character.
