Geography & terrain

Kunzum Pass lies in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh at about 4,551 m, 95 km from Kaza and 200 km from Manali — the high pass of the region, its prayer flags, the temple and the views set on the Spiti valley's gate between the Kullu and the Lahaul.

The pass's story runs with the valley's road era — the gateway pass of the Spiti circuit and the summer route of the traders, with the pass's modern role as the crossing of the Kaza–Manali road and the stop of the Tosh-Kaza drives; the pass's history of the Devi temple of the travellers' blessings and the snow's months, gives Kunzum its high-pass character.
