Korzok lies in the Leh district of Ladakh at about 4,575 m, 40 km from Tso Moriri and 220 km from Leh — the high village of the Rupshu plateau, its monastery, the camping and the Changpa life set on the Tso Moriri's eastern shore.

History & culture

The village's story runs with the region's high-plateau life — the village of the Changpa herders and the old trade of the Rupshu, with the village's modern role as the camping base of the Tso Moriri circuit and the home of the 400-year-old monastery; the village's history of the yak and the pashmina life and the seasonal migrations, gives Korzok its high-village character.
