Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the Mulugu district of Telangana, 100 km from Warangal and 250 km from Hyderabad — the forest of the Godavari's southern country, its teak and bamboo and the Dayyala river set in the plateau's dry forests.
History & culture
The sanctuary was established in 1952 as one of the state's early protected forests — the home of the tigers, the leopards and the deer of the region, with its story as the old forests of the Kakatiya-era country; the sanctuary's role in the region's tribal life and the modern wildlife viewing of the safari routes give Eturnagaram its forest character.
