Geography & terrain

Dzukou Valley lies on the Nagaland side of the shared border with Manipur, about 30 km from Kohima and 15 km from the Viswema trek start — the high valley of the same great bowl, its meadows and the Dzukou peak's slopes set at about 2,450 m in the Angami country.

History & culture

The valley's story mirrors the Manipur side — the traditional grounds of the border tribes and the modern trekking of the region; the Nagaland approach through the Angami villages and the valley's wartime memories of the Kohima country give the Dzukou its shared history with the region's peoples.
