Devgad lies on the Konkan coast of the Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra, 180 km from Ratnagiri and 300 km from Mumbai — the mango and fort country of the southern coast, its cape, lighthouses and the Alphonso orchards set above the Arabian shore.
