Bor Tiger Reserve lies 60 km from Nagpur and 15 km from Wardha in Maharashtra — 138 sq km of the Vidarbha forest along the Bor river's valley, the smallest tiger reserve of the state and among the easiest of India's big-cat parks.

History & culture

The reserve's forest long served the village economy of the Wardha valley before its sanctuary declaration in 1970 and Project Tiger status in 2014; its tigers — famously thriving in the compact reserve — have made Bor the weekend tiger gate of the Nagpur region.
