Geography & terrain

Bisle Ghat is the misty hairpin descent of the Western Ghats between Sakleshpur and the Kukke Subrahmanya road in Karnataka — a biodiversity-hotspot ridge of shola forest and coffee estates hugging the Pushpagiri wildlife sanctuary belt, with layered valley views over the Ghats.

History & culture

The ghat road, built to link the Malnad coffee country to the coastal temples, passed through reserved forests whose shola patches became the famous 'Bisle conservation area' — studied and celebrated for its butterfly and bird diversity. Its viewpoint grew into a favourite stop of the Karnataka ghat-touring circuit.
