Bhandardara lies in the Sahyadri at 740 metres in Ahmednagar district, 120 km from Mumbai and 70 km from Nashik — a dam-reservoir village of the Pravara river, its Arthur Lake and Wilson Dam set in the pine-and-hill country of the ghats.
